The City of West Frankfort is seeking information on the identity of the individuals in these pictures. The individuals were seen entering the lake damn area through restricted areas and have damaged city property. Trespassing in restricted areas and damaging the lake in any way will not be tolerated. Any information can be forwarded to the city codes office at (618) 932-3262 ext. 109.





Effective Thursday, October 31st a new 3 way stop sign is being added at the intersection of 9th Street and Cherry Street near Central Jr High School.


The city has acquired a deed to the property at 1202 w oak st.. Look for this building to be demolished in the near future. This is one of many properties the city has been working to remove to improve our town.


The city has acquired a deed to the dilapidated property at 2309 East Elm Street. Look for this building to be demolished in the near future.


Per IDOT, beginning today October 25, 2024, the traffic control devices at the locations of the new roundabouts will become inactive. The outside lanes of the roundabouts will be functional. Construction will continue on the inside lanes. Please use caution when entering and exiting.

The City of West Frankfort's Trail of Treats will be held October 31st from 3pm-5pm with Trick or Treating following from 5pm-8 pm.


City Hall is open today October 14, 2024 normal business hours.


The City of West Frankfort is proud to announce Easy Coin Laundry, LLC located at 905 East Main Street is now open for business 24 hours a day! Thank you for investing in our community!


City Hall will be closed Monday, September 2nd, 2024. We will return Tuesday, September 3rd, 2024 with normal business hours.


Water bills for all West Frankfort water customers went to the post office today 8/30/24. All water bills are due on the 15th of each month. We continue to urge customer to sign up for emailed billing. You can always pay your water bill by visiting us at the Water Department Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm, after hours by using our drop box located outside of City Hall in the second drive-up lane or 24hours through Online Bill Pay option located at www.westfrankfort-il.com.

Everyone from City Hall, the Street Department, the Water Department, the Sewer Department, and the attorneys involved in all of the paperwork and legalities. The City of West Frankfort is proud to announce that a new sidewalk on 9th Street should by completed by Friday, weather permitting. This addition will help to ensure the safety of our children walking to and from school. Check back often for more updates on current and future projects.


Just a REMINDER that next week is bulk item pick up. The week of August 19-23rd bulk items can be set out with your trash on your normal trash day.



Please note that if you have not yet received your water bill in the mail that you can call or visit City Hall to find out how much your bill is. You can pay it in person, over the phone, or online.
All water bill payments are due this Thursday, August 15. Any payments made after that date will be subject to a late fee.

We have acquired a deed and demolition has already begun on the vacant/dilapidated structure at 301 e 4th St. The city is always working to improve our town.


The city has acquired a deed to the property at 1001 e Clark. Look for this building to be demolished in the near future. This is yet another complaint the city has been working on.
